Vacation Photography in London – Hire Personal photographer for a day.
There are times in our lives when something special happens, we decide to commemorate a moment or, perhaps, just enjoy it with the people we love by visiting a special place – our dream vacation.
This was the case of a very happy couple from Texas, USA – who were on a tour across Europe’s capitals and famous landmarks, sharing great moments together. When London was next on the list, they decided to hire a professional photographer to capture their visit to one of the most beautiful cities in the world – the city of London.
This is how I met Chantel and her husband. I received an email with a request for a quote and availability to be their personal photographer, however due to the short nature of their visit (only for a day in London) the maximum time they were able to spare, for photography, was just one hour.
So we needed to be practical and optimize well the one hour slot we had for the photo-shoot, that is why the landmarks of choice were Big Ben and London Eye (in good proximity, so no time in moving from one location to another was going to be wasted) – yes I know, very predictable, but then again who will visit London and not pose for pictures in front of Big Ben?
Bellow is a small selection of the images I captured during the hour I spend with the lovely couple who I may never see again – but surely I captured a timeless piece of happiness that will be part of their life for times to come.
It is quite remarkable how, lately, I’m getting more frequent requests to be “Personal Photographer” or “Vacation Photographer” (I’m not even sure how to define it) from people who are visiting London and prefer to hire a photographer.
Anyway, despite having just an hour to cover two of the London’s greatest landmarks, we ended up capturing some really cool photographs. As a personal photographer my job is so easy when photographing happy people, enjoying their visit to London.
Every frame I captured that day was charged with so much positive energy and genuine emotions – reflecting the overall experience with my photography experience and approach.
Conclusion:
Despite seeing new innovations, like selfie sticks, aiding tourists to capture images of themselves (with their mobile phones), I firmly believe that nothing can replace the experience of hiring personal photographer – and the quality of the images created.
Another aspect of spending time around London, with personal photographer you’d hire, is also the benefit of having a guide. This cane be essential, especially for people who are visiting the city for first time – saving time and perhaps seeing things that normally you won’t see.
